David Beckham perfects the art of defence — to shield wealth from France’s taxman

British football player David Beckham poses during a news conference to announce signing with Paris Saint Germain football club

David Beckham’s financial footwork in moving to France was hailed as equal to his football skills yesterday after experts suggested that the deal had been structured to avoid a big tax bill.
The former England captain’s move to Paris Saint-Germain saw him dribble past France’s tax regime last week while portraying himself as a philanthropist. When he signed for the Qatari-owned PSG, Beckham, 37, announced that he would donate his wages — understood to be €800,000 a month (£695,000) — to a childrens charity

He made the move back to Europe after seven years at LA Galaxy, but it appears David Beckham isn't overly keen to settle in Paris straight away.
The former England star was seen training this week in London, rather than in the French capital with his team-mates.
It may be that the 37-year-old wants to get back into peak condition before he lets the younger members of the club see him in action

DAVID BECKHAM PLANS TO DECIDE ON HIS NEXT MOVE WITHIN THE MONTH

David Beckham doubled up on layers to keep warm in London today. Since he left the LA Galaxy, David's been settling back into life in the UK. Although he's no longer with American MLS, he's not avoiding the sport altogether. Yesterday, David returned to the soccer field to train with London's Arsenal.
Though David's undecided about where he'll play in the future — he intends to decide within the next month — he's keeping his skills sharp. David asked to train with Arsenal, and the team's manager,Arsène Wenger, says there's slim chance of their signing him, but he's great to have around nonetheless. Arsène said of David, "He always has a good word for everyone. The young English players especially look at him and take his advice on board. He has done the maximum in his career that you can do. Why? Because he loves football. He arrives before training and, after training, he stays and plays."
Aside from getting back to soccer, David's focused on other work duties. Earlier this week, David made a trip to Spain to film a commercial for Adidas inMarbella. His busy week comes after a weekend of family fun — he and his wife, Victoria Beckham, took their three boys to a Cirque du Soleil performance atRoyal Albert Hall.
